Southern Rock Energy was established to develop, construct, and operate assets including production wells, natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGL) processing facilities, refinery complexes, storage and distribution terminals, pipelines, hydrogen complexes, solar, wind, geothermal electricity production, water production, processing, and recycling, and carbon capture and sequestration.
Hydrogen production will include "blue" hydrogen processed from the off gases produced during the refining process through an autothermal reformer (ATR) with carbon capture equipment, and "green" hydrogen processed from the recycled wastewater and renewable electricity through an electrolysis complex.
Heat from geothermal assets and waste vapor streams from the process heating units will produce zero carbon emissions electricity to be consumed within the complex. Additionally, geothermal will heat and cool the complex buildings and warehouses.
Carbon capture technology will be utilized on a single source of emissions - the autothermal reformer (ATR). The ATR will process the off gases of the refinery into hydrogen and carbon dioxide (CO2). The captured CO2 will be sequestered, utilized in enhanced oil recovery, processed further in the electrolysis complex, or sold for commercial applications.
